This was Jennie

Ursula with Jennie

I say this was Jennie, because she is no more.  She and her siblings were gently led to rest with Jesus because of a nasty and highly (cat) contagious disease.  We took pictures of them just an hour before they were returned to the SPCA (we foster animals to prepare them for adoption) for testing and observation.  We fully expected that they would be back in a day or two after medical intervention.  (We had thought that they merely were too young and unweaned before we got them).  I suggested that the kids take pics “just in case” they didn’t come back.  I am so glad that we did.

We got the call a day later that another one had stopped eating and they had all tested positive for the bad ugly disease.  The shelter worker called with the bad news as we were gathered in living room.  I put her on speaker phone as she told us how they had no choice and how grateful they were that these kitties were loved and in a home for their last few days on earth.  We cried, and resolved to do this again, and again; that we would do what we could to bridge animals at the shelter with forever families, here on earth or up in heaven.
